Last week’s webinar, “AutomatePro+ Unveiled: The Future of AI-Driven DevOps,” offered a compelling look at how Agentic AI is set to reshape ServiceNow testing, deployments, and upgrades. Hosted by Lauren (VP of Marketing) and Sal Costa (Director of Solution Consulting), the session went far beyond a product demo—it explored how a more proactive form of AI can accelerate and simplify DevOps processes across the board.
A Quick Look Back: The DevOps Journey So Far
To set the stage, Sal walked through how DevOps has evolved—from rigid waterfall methodologies to agile frameworks designed to help teams ship faster and respond to change more easily. Even with modern tools, many processes remain siloed and resistant to change.
As Sal pointed out, “Most of those processes still exist as sort of silos, and they’re still resistant to change.” This resistance isn’t just about technology. It’s often rooted in people. Many are comfortable being application owners but hesitate to take ownership of business processes and the responsibilities that come with them—deadlines, SLAs, and ongoing maintenance. That’s where Agentic AI enters the picture.
What Is Agentic AI (and Why Does It Matter)?
Unlike traditional AI that reacts to user prompts, Agentic AI is proactive. It understands your goals, evaluates context, and takes action on your behalf. Sal described it as “an additional team member who’s always working, with one specific job they’re trained to do—and they do it proactively.”
This isn’t about replacing human judgment with blind automation. It’s about embedding intelligence directly into the DevOps pipeline so decisions happen faster, with less overhead. Because DevOps is a continuous loop of connected processes, AI’s ability to interpret, summarize, and decide is particularly valuable—especially in those repetitive, decision-heavy handoffs between stages.
Where AutomatePro+ Comes In
AutomatePro+ is the suite of Agentic AI tools integrated across the AutomatePro platform. Built on ServiceNow, the core platform already supports the DevOps lifecycle with modules like AutoTest, AutoDeploy, AutoDoc, and Monitor. AutomatePro+ brings intelligence to all of it.
As Sal explained, “AutomatePro+ is the tool and technology to make all those decisions”—whether that’s deciding when to run a test, triage a monitoring alert, or escalate a failed deploy. Over time, the vision is for AutomatePro+ to act as another always-on teammate, proactively identifying risks, launching workflows, and keeping development moving smoothly.
The Game-Changer
The standout moment of the webinar was the live demo of the new feature—a conversational AI interface that allows users to generate automated tests using plain English.
In the demo, Sal gave a simple prompt, “Create an incident as an end user through the portal, then assign and resolve it as a service desk user.” In less than a minute, the system returned a fully-formed, executable test. “What used to take 30 minutes to an hour now takes a minute,” Sal noted. “That’s multiple orders of magnitude faster.”
The test generator pulls from both AutomatePro’s out-of-the-box content packs (covering standard ServiceNow workflows) and custom-built blocks for unique applications or portals. As long as there’s a block available, the AI can work with it—even for external platforms or integrations.
What This Means for the Future of DevOps
In the short term, teams will see immediate benefits in speed and efficiency. Sal explained that agentic AI reduces effort, accelerates response times, and eliminates the bottlenecks that come with waiting for human input. “The quicker I can get that feedback, the less expensive and more effective the change will be,” he said.
More importantly, it opens the door for smaller, more frequent updates. Instead of bundling changes into large, monolithic deployments, teams can deliver incremental improvements and get real-time feedback—making the entire DevOps loop tighter and more agile.
Longer term, this shift will change roles and responsibilities. Sal emphasized that the goal isn’t to replace people, but to elevate them. “The work doesn’t go away. It just changes to something with more value.” With AI handling the repetitive tasks, teams can focus on strategic initiatives and higher-impact work.
Real Results: Proven at Scale
AutomatePro+ isn’t just a vision—it’s already delivering results. In one month alone, the platform powered tens of thousands of hours of automation and executed over 13 million tests. Companies like NTT DATA have seen dramatic ROI, including a 47X increase in automation speed and efficiency.
There are plenty of resources available for those ready to dive deeper, including documentation, data sheets, and customer success stories on the AutomatePro website. For organizations with unique environments or edge cases, a personalized demo is the best way to explore how AutomatePro+ can fit into your ServiceNow DevOps strategy.
The takeaway? Agentic AI isn’t just another buzzword. It’s a shift in how DevOps gets done—and with AutomatePro+, that future is already here.
