At AutomatePro, we’re always up for challenges that inspire us, unite us as a team, and make a meaningful difference. That’s why our Charity Committee has embarked on an ambitious virtual journey: traveling 19,133 km from Xanadu to Yokohama!
This six-month challenge, cleverly tied to the ServiceNow Xanadu release and the upcoming Yokohama update in May 2025, has us walking, running, cycling, and swimming our way across continents—virtually, of course. It’s no small feat, but we’re determined to see it through. Why? Because every kilometre we conquer is in support of Mind, an incredible charity committed to improving mental health.
Why Mind?
Mind is a leading UK charity dedicated to helping those who struggle with mental health challenges. They provide support, campaign for better services, and work tirelessly to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. In a world where one in four people will experience a mental health problem each year, their mission has never been more vital. By supporting Mind, we’re not just fundraising; we’re advocating for the importance of mental well-being in every community.
The Challenge: Moving for a Cause
Our journey isn’t just about distance; it’s about connection. At AutomatePro, we’re a fully remote company, so this challenge is a brilliant way to bond as a team, no matter where in the world we’re based. Exercise is a powerful tool for mental health. Whether it’s a quick lunchtime walk, a sunrise swim, or a weekend bike ride, staying active helps us clear our minds and boost our mood. And as we tackle this challenge together, we’re reminded of the importance of teamwork, resilience, and supporting one another. But most importantly, this challenge is about giving back. Mental health affects everyone, in nuanced ways. Through our efforts, we’re raising funds for Mind and shining a light on the importance of open conversations, mutual support, and looking after our collective well-being.
Keeping Track and Pushing Forward
We’re using Strava to keep track of every step, pedal, and stroke. Weekly updates help us measure our progress, spark a little healthy competition, and keep us motivated. Seeing those kilometres add up is a thrill, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love an excuse to brag about their weekend run? Our team members are rearing to go, whether they contribute a few or a few hundred, every step gets us closer to the finish line and helps Mind do even more amazing work.
A Journey that Matters
At its core, this challenge is about more than just reaching Yokohama. It’s about making a real difference for a cause that matters to all of us. Mind’s work ensures that no one has to face mental health struggles alone, and we’re proud to support their mission. Together, we aim to hit our fundraising target, raise awareness, and inspire others to prioritize mental well-being. Here’s to the journey ahead, to smashing our goals, and to supporting a cause that means so much. We’ll be sharing our updates, milestones, and maybe even a few funny stories along the way – stay tuned!
